Vintage Paintings

Every piece of art here is an original, a one-off created by an artistic individual who has taken the time to paint.

Vintage Paintings

Every piece of art here is an original, a one-off created by an artistic individual who has taken the time to paint. This very fact makes each piece meaningful, it is the result of another human’s effort and you, we, now have the privilege of hanging this painting on our walls to enjoy. Each painting has a character expressed through the colours, style and composition, perhaps an era encapsulated too, inspiration from other artists, the layers of unconscious or conscious influence that will emerge every time a new piece of art is made. The collection here is curated by Pluck Co-founder, Leila Touwen, who as you can see from her own kitchen (and home) is very keen on old paintings!

Handmade Ceramics

We are very proud to stock the work of three incredibly talented British potters, each with a very different signature style to the ceramics they make. Octogenarian Tony Gant has been making his stoneware pots since the 1960s, with simple forms, earthy glazes and a distinctive raw band of clay on each piece they feel elegantly utilitarian. With a background in fine art, Kelly Jessiman has a confident eye for colour and experiments with the application of her glazes. She embraces wonky, organic forms that feel irreverent and individual. Established 35 years ago by potter Robert Goldsmith Selborne Pottery is a more classic offering, with rich blues and deep red stripes handpainted on their soft, speckly grey stoneware.
