A Pink and Green Kitchen in Ealing
This kitchen was designed for a young family, a sanctuary where littlies play whilst parents cook. The island shelves are a perfect representation of this – storage for cook books and toys!
Inspired by the kitchen colours in Pluck’s meeting room, where we immerse ourselves in design options with our clients, Brockwell Moss is the dominant hue here, with soft Ruskin Blossom for the wall cabinets. A duo so effective at creating calm, in a space that bustles with noise, children and the general energy of busy family life.
The pairing nods to nature and, given this is the modern extension on an Edwardian house, the room at the back of the house intended to forge a connection with the garden, it is very apt, bringing the outside in.
The layout for the space, a central island, with a main cupboard run along the back is practical. The island is a focal point, the piece of furniture that activities will revolve around. Whether sitting on a stool or the sofa chatting to the cook, the island is where you will likely face.
Little details to note in this design, include the pop of Market Mustard inside the island shelves – inspired by the LEGO® Van Gogh Sunflowers perhaps?! This moment of yellow is echoed on the other side of the room too with a sunshine hued, old-school style, metal locker. Just beyond that a Pluck utility room in Eccles, a pale beige with pink undertones, is visible.
We were asked specifically to include a recessed shelf above the dishwasher, as in the last kitchen heads were knocked on the cupboard door here. It is a delight to incorporate personal, custom requests such as this in our bespoke kitchen designs.
This kitchen radically changed how our clients were able to gather together at home with each other and with friends and family as guests; being a part of driving that next stage of home life is always a privilege.
