Designing Your Kitchen

We understand the decision to invest in a new kitchen is not one taken lightly – whether renovating a whole house, building a new extension, or revamping a dilapidated room – it is a big decision that will involve research and thought. We also know it can all seem a little overwhelming, so many choices to make for a room that really matters, a kitchen should achieve that sweet spot where practical design merges with beautiful and durable cabinetry and furniture.

Our design team will work with you to make the process of designing a kitchen that is just right for you a pleasure. We always recommend a copy of our brochure and a good look through our Projects and Instagram profile for inspiration.

The typical timeframe for a Pluck kitchen from design to delivery is five months, so please contact us with plenty of time for your project. Should you have slightly less than five months, it is still worth getting in touch as our schedules do change. We can also work to much longer timescales, should you wish to get your project booked in with us earlier on in your renovation programme.

First Design and Quote

Following a chat (phone, email, in person), we will give you an initial estimate and simple floor plan, for this to be a meaningful costing what we will need from you is:

  • A floor plan of the room, so an architect’s drawings, the current layout in an estate agent’s pack, or a simple sketch with a couple of key measurements may also do the job. We can give you tips on how to do this.
  • Details of the project and any relevant schedules.
  • An understanding of the priorities for your kitchen and the Pluck finishes and furniture that you adore! Interior images that inspire you are always great. 

This quote will not include a detailed breakdown for appliances and worktops but we can give an accurate estimate. It will include installation.

The Detailed Design

The next stage is a deep dive into the design. Ideally we have a face-to-face design consultation at Pluck HQ that will take around two hours (virtual consultations are possible too). You will see our cabinetry and furniture, visit the workshop where your new kitchen will be made and we have samples galore. 

This is not a typical high street kitchen brand experience, we are based in inner city London, near the hustle and bustle of a busy community. We occupy two Victorian warehouses and handcraft our cabinetry and furniture here. We make elegant and beautiful kitchens for UK-wide homes (and beyond), but Pluck HQ is not a glossy show kitchen / shop…you will, however, walk away inspired and excited about your new kitchen. 

After nearly a decade designing and making kitchens, we have a comprehensive little black book and can advise on and source where appropriate, appliances, worktops, tiles, flooring and other finishes. 

The development of your kitchen’s final design before it goes into production includes a fluid to and fro of ideas and iterations with 3-d renders which will enable you to comprehensively visualise what your kitchen will look like.
