Clapham Victorian Villa Kitchen

Set in a beautiful Victorian villa, the renovation of this kitchen started with much loved furniture our client wanted to centre the layout around – the Tulip dining table and Ernest Race chairs. The backdrop to the bright pops of colour provided by these design classics, is the calming Brockwell Moss. We dedicated one side to storage with tall cabinetry, including a single-door larder and a large Fisher & Paykel fridge. Here we have also included a nook for the kettle, coffee maker and toaster, which helps keep worktop space uncluttered. Opposite there’s open shelving for displaying treasures, balancing the tall cabinetry on the other side and keeping the room feeling spacious. Wood finishes bring textures to the room with a little dash of Sweet Chestnut grain in the recessed handles, a rich walnut floor and speckled chips from the worktop by Foresso. This project featured  in House Beautiful magazine and when asked what she likes most about the remodelled kitchen, our clients says ‘the room is very practical, but beautiful and comfortable too’ – the perfect combination!
