A Kitchen in a Kent Eco Home

Set in an eco-house in rural Kent, this kitchen is a glorious combination of wood, colour and pattern. The room is in the centre of a large bungalow built in 2013, it is quite ‘literally the heart of the home’, said our clients when interviewed by Ideal Home magazine about their renovation. This family home not only creates and uses energy sustainably due to its clever design  (think biomass boilers and a rain harvesting roof!), the orientation and layout closely connects the interior to nature with wonderful views of the garden, landscaped by Nic Howard, a Chelsea Flower Show medalist and the beautiful Kent countryside. The distribution of colour is playful with two tones of pink – our coral Ritzy and pale Ruskin Blossom sitting adjacent to the contrasting rich Bonnington Green. The beautiful Elm wood brings a texture and pattern to the scheme, as does the terrazzo worktop on the island by Diespeker and the geometric patterned porcelain floor tiles by Domus.
